Work safely in the construction industry CPCCOHS1001A |
| Provides mandatory training required for the issue of a Queensland construction induction card - also known as a White Card. |
| 4 hours |
| Any person who intends to do construction work in Queensland. |
The course (CPCCOHS1001A) has one unit of competency which is comprised of three elements.
|
Under Queensland health and safety laws, any person doing construction work in Queensland from 1 July 2009 must have successfully completed a general OHS construction induction course for the industry before they start work in any construction activity.
It is important to note that any person who holds a Queensland blue card issued before 1 July 2009 is not required to undertake further training or replace their blue cards as they will continue to be valid and recognised in Queensland and other States and Territories.
Queensland recognises construction induction cards from all other States and Territories (excluding ACT, NT and Tasmania). This means cards from these other States are accepted as being equivalent to the Queensland construction induction card.
Workers holding these cards are not required to undertake construction induction training in Queensland and are not required to obtain a Queensland construction induction card.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland Inspectors will regard these cards as evidence of meeting the requirements for general construction induction training for construction work under Queensland law.
Training for the Queensland construction induction card is competency-based and will involve some form of assessment. Upon successfully completing the course a laminated white card will be provided to you. It will have a serial number and will include your signature and the date of the course.
